About IANS

The Idaho Section of the American Nuclear Society (IANS) was chartered in 1957. 

We are the one of the largest and most active sections of the American Nuclear Society (ANS). 

Our non-profit organization is dedicated to the advancement of science, engineering, and education pertaining to peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology.

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is a non-profit technical organization comprised of scientists, engineers, educators, technicians, and others. 

The main objective of the ANS is to promote the advancement of engineering and science relating to the atomic nucleus and of allied sciences and arts. 

Other purposes are to integrate the many nuclear science and technology disciplines, encourage research, establish scholarships, disseminate information, hold meetings for the presentation and discussion of scientific and technical papers, and cooperate with government agencies, education institutions, and other organization having similar purposes.
